About WWE 2K25
WWE 2K25 pushes the series further into full-contact chaos with the return of Bloodline Rules matches and a physics system that finally makes big men feel like actual big men. A decade removed from 2K15’s rough first attempt at this license, the gap in polish is obvious the second you step into the ring.
The new Underground mode is the headline addition, stripping away the ropes and ring altogether for a street-fighting format built around improvised weapons and crowd-surrounded brawls. It’s a genuine departure from the traditional match structure, and it plays differently enough that it doesn’t feel like a reskinned exhibition mode.
Bloodline Rules brings a Samoan-influenced match type built around the Anoa’i family storylines, with unique win conditions and interference mechanics pulled straight from actual WWE angles. It’s a niche addition, but it’s the kind of detail that shows 2K is paying attention to what’s actually happening in the current product.
MyRise, the story-driven career mode, splits into two separate paths this year, letting you choose between a more traditional rise-to-the-top narrative or a darker, morally grayer storyline. Both branches share the same underlying progression systems, but the writing and rival cast change enough to justify playing through twice.
The roster is the deepest the series has shipped, spanning current main roster talent, NXT call-ups, and a legends list that stretches back decades. Create-a-Wrestler and Create-a-Championship both return with expanded tools, and the community creation suite makes it easy to pull in custom content built by other players.
Physics and animation work got another real pass here. Bigger wrestlers carry actual momentum now, so a slam from a 300-pound superstar hits differently than one from a cruiserweight. Reversals feel less binary too, with a wider window of intermediate outcomes instead of a clean hit-or-miss system.
2K Showcase returns, this time built around a specific rivalry from recent WWE history, blending real match footage with playable recreations tied to objectives from what actually happened. It remains one of the better ways the series bridges nostalgia with actual gameplay.
Online play, MyGM, and Universe Mode round out the package, giving both competitive players and simulation fans a reason to stick around long after the story modes wrap. WWE 2K25 is the most complete wrestling package the series has put out, and it shows in nearly every mode.
