TT Games built this the same way they’ve built every LEGO adaptation, plenty of humor, no dialogue, and puzzle-solving that leans on the wand-based spellcasting instead of the usual punch-and-smash combat the studio’s other licenses use.

Spells are the real mechanical hook here. Wingardium Leviosa moves objects around, Incendio lights torches and burns obstacles, Reducto blasts through rubble. Progressing through Hogwarts and the wider wizarding world means learning new spells and backtracking to earlier areas to use them.

The open-world hub is Hogwarts Castle itself, and it’s dense. Moving staircases, hidden passages, the Room of Requirement, house common rooms, all explorable between story missions. Wandering the halls between levels ends up being just as fun as the missions themselves.

Character variety runs deep across both halves of the collection. Harry, Ron, Hermione, and dozens of supporting characters from the books, each with a distinct spell loadout and unlockable through story progress or found collectibles scattered around the castle.

Years 5-7 shifts tone alongside the source material, trading the earlier games’ brighter Hogwarts adventures for darker missions tied to the war against Voldemort. The humor stays, but the stakes and settings get noticeably heavier as the story moves toward the finale.

Co-op drop-in play runs through the entire campaign, letting a second player join at any point as a supporting character. It’s built for exactly the kind of casual couch co-op that made the LEGO series a household staple.

Collectible hunting adds serious replay value on top of the story missions. Hundreds of studs, character tokens, and hidden red bricks are scattered through every level, and completionists can spend well past the main campaign chasing 100 percent.
