Diplomacy and alliances add another layer. You can join a faction, support a friendly nation, or declare your own war when the moment looks right. Timing matters, because an early strike can win a lot and a late one can start a war you can’t finish.

The campaign runs across the war years, so one playthrough can take many hours. You can pause the game, give orders, and think through a plan before you let time run again. That pace lets you handle many fronts at once without feeling rushed.
